LalBrew CBC-1 Cask and Bottle Conditioning Yeast - Lallemand
The difference between a flat bottle-conditioned beer and a perfectly carbonated one often comes down to the conditioning yeast. LalBrew CBC-1 was developed specifically for this critical application — and it excels at it.
Perfect for these applications: Bottle conditioning for ales, cask conditioning for real ales, refermentation of high-alcohol beers, primary fermentation for dry cider, still and sparkling mead, hard seltzer, kombucha secondary fermentation.
CBC-1 has been specifically selected from the Lallemand Yeast Collection for its outstanding refermentation properties. Its most important quality is what it does not do: it does not metabolize maltotriose, meaning it cannot ferment the residual dextrins in your finished beer. The original body, mouthfeel and flavor of your beer are fully preserved after conditioning — only carbonation is added.
High resistance to alcohol (up to 14% ABV) and elevated CO2 pressure means CBC-1 performs reliably even in strong ales that would inhibit other conditioning strains. It starts up quickly even in the challenging low-oxygen, high-alcohol environment of a finished beer, ensuring consistent carbonation across the entire batch.
The neutral flavor profile means CBC-1 adds no yeast character to the conditioned beer — it works invisibly, doing its job and then dropping out of suspension as a compact sediment. For traditional cask ales and bottle-conditioned craft beers, CBC-1 is the professional choice.
