LalBrew Aurora Northern IPA Ale Yeast - Lallemand
Inspired by the northern lights, Aurora illuminates a new direction in IPA brewing. This carefully selected strain bridges the gap between the clean drinkability of West Coast IPAs and the expressive yeast character of East Coast styles, creating a style all of its own: the Northern IPA.
Perfect for these beer styles: Northern IPA, Cold IPA, West Coast IPA, Session IPA, Double IPA, Imperial IPA, American Pale Ale, Cold-Fermented Pale Ale.
Aurora's most impressive quality is its ability to ferment reliably at low temperatures — as cold as 12°C — while still producing a vibrant and expressive aroma profile. This means you can ferment at lager-like temperatures to achieve exceptional clarity and crispness while still benefiting from floral and fruity yeast-derived aromas that would be absent in a true lager fermentation.
The flavor profile is clean and crisp with delicate floral notes and a refreshing fruitiness that complements rather than competes with hop character. Medium-high flocculation creates a naturally clearer beer at cold fermentation temperatures. Wide fermentation range of 12-30°C makes Aurora remarkably flexible — you can truly dial in the character you want by adjusting temperature.
For Cold IPA — the exciting hybrid style that uses lager fermentation temperatures with ale yeast — Aurora is one of the most suitable strains available. Fast vigorous fermentation completes in 4-5 days even at lower temperatures.
